Connector

There are five types of connectors:

  • Association
  • Dependency
  • Aggregation
  • Composition
  • Generalization

Connecting a Connector

Connect a connector in the CONNECT MODE.

  1. Select a cell having the class which becomes the connection source.

  2. Perform one of the following operations according to the shape of the connector you want to connect:

    • Press one of R, D, A, C, and G keys.
    • Click one of connect-association-icon, connect-dependency-icon, connect-aggregation-icon, connect-composition-icon, and connect-generalization-icon buttons on the toolbar.
    • Click one of [Association], [Dependency], [Aggregation], [Composition], and [Generalization] from [Connection] on the menu.

    This operation switches the mode to the CONNECT MODE.

  3. Select a cell having the class which becomes the connection destination.

    At this point, the connector is not established yet. You can press ESC to cancel the operation.

  4. Press Enter or double-click.

    The connection of the connector is established and the mode returns to the CELL MODE.

Removing a Connector

Remove a connector in the SELECT CONNECTOR MODE.

  1. Select a cell having the class connected to the connector you want to remove.

  2. Press r.

    The mode switches to the SELECT CONNECTOR MODE. The currently selected connector is highlighted here.

  3. If multiple connectors are connected, use h, j, k, l, or Arrow keys to select the connector you want to remove.

  4. Press x.

    The selected connector is removed.
