Execution Specification

Execution specification is sometimes referred to as a “activation line” or “execution occurrences”. In any case, it is the rectangle placed on the dotted line of the lifeline.

To add and remove a execution specification are done in the Horizontal mode of the CELL MODE. The following all steps are premised operation in the Horizontal mode.

Adding

  1. Select the cell which you want to add the execution specification on the lifeline.

    The place adding the execution specification is must be the cell which contains the lifeline (dotted line).

  2. Press i.

    The mode switches to the RANGE MODE.

  3. Move the cursor to the place which you want to stretch the execution specification.

  4. Press <Enter> to determine it.

Removing

  1. Select the cell which placed the execution specification you want to remove.

  2. Perform one of the following operations:

    • Press x.
    • Click cut-icon on the toolbar.
    • Click [EditCut] on the menu.

    If the execution specification which is currently selected output (sent) the message(s), the mode switches to the SELECT MODE to select the execution specification or message. The execution specification is removed when you select it with a method of moving a cursor. For more info, refer to the Unique modes in Sequence diagram.

Adjustment of length

In this section describes about a adjusting the length of the already created execution specification. However, you will not be able to extend the length to greater than the length of the lifeline. In that case, you must extend the length of the lifeline at first, and extend the length of the execution specification.

  1. Select the cell which placed the execution specification you want to adjust the length.

  2. Press r or c.

    The mode switches to the RANGE MODE.

    If the execution specification which is currently selected output (sent) the message(s), the mode switches to the SELECT MODE to select the execution specification or message. Select the execution specification with a method of moving a cursor.

    If you do this operation at the other of the terminal of the execution specification, the cursor moves automatically to the top or bottom of the execution specification.

  3. Adjust the length of the execution specification with a method of moving a cursor.

    h, j, k, l or , , , are able to use.

  4. Press <Enter> to fix the length.
